Warhounds Return to the Ice Saturday for Free Preseason Game Against Alpena

GAYLORD, Mich. — The Northern Michigan Warhounds will take the ice for the first time this season on Saturday, September 26, when they host the Alpena 45ers at 6 p.m. at the Otsego County Sportsplex. Admission to the preseason game is free.

For the Warhounds, Saturday is a chance to bring new and returning players together in game action and get back in front of the Pack. Fans will see quite a few new faces alongside familiar ones as the team begins building toward the regular season.

There is a fresh look around the Sportsplex, too. New paint, new compressors and other improvements have added to the excitement of returning to The Den.

“We’re excited to get back on the ice, see how this group comes together and play in front of our Pack again,” the Warhounds said. “There’s a lot of energy around the team and the Sportsplex heading into this season.”

Fans are encouraged to preregister at tickets.nomiwarhounds.com. Those who preregister will receive a free sticker pack and be entered into a drawing for a game-worn jersey at the end of the second period.

The game offers a first look at this season’s Warhounds before the regular-season home opener on October 10. Whether you’ve followed the team from the start or are coming to your first game, Saturday is a chance to fill the stands and welcome hockey back to Gaylord.
