About Us – Northern Michigan Warhounds

The Northern Michigan Warhounds are a semi-professional hockey team based in Gaylord, Michigan, competing in the American Premier Hockey League (APHL). Founded on principles of integrity, resilience, and community, the Warhounds are proudly disabled veteran owned and operated. We believe hockey is more than a game—it’s a platform to inspire, unite, and uplift.

Our mission is to bring high-intensity, affordable family entertainment to Northern Michigan while actively serving the community through programs that promote literacy, physical fitness, and mental health awareness. From themed game nights to youth outreach initiatives like Slapshots & Storybooks, the Warhounds are dedicated to creating lasting impact both on and off the ice.

Backed by a passionate fan base and a “pack first” mentality, the Warhounds are here to build a tradition of excellence—fueled by heart, driven by purpose, and rooted in the spirit of Northern Michigan.
